February 25, 2004: The third night of the Up Records Tenth Anniversary week of concerts, The Black Heart Procession headlined a show featuring Mike Johnson & The Evildoers, Tiffany Anders, and with Dina Martina hostessing. Mike was a very close friend of Chris Takino's, one of the closest members of the Up "family", and is a person critical to the shaping, vision, and drive of Up Records. Mike's band The Evildoers consisted of Jim Roth on bass and Jeff Baars hitting the drums. 2-25 is Chris' birthdate, and the Chop Suey, where this show took place, is the building that Chris saw The Black Heart Procession for the very first time. Chris wanted to release BHP albums but they wrote a contract with Touch & Go and did an EP with Up Records, in which Chris was allowed to select 3 of his favorite Black Heart songs at the time, for release.
