The Girl With The Cross In Her Car - To the girl with the cross in her car, I always wondered who you are, that fish on the back, didn't save you from that chrome attack, and now I wonder where you are. Was that cross in the front just a front? To get you into streets made of gold? Or was it really sincere? I want to know, my dear. Was it out of love or out of fear? Well it really, really was a mess / And did you have any time to confess? Did He think that you looked best inside that Sunday dress? Did you think that your life here was blessed? Songs of praise still playing from the car / as I watched them take you from afar. Did those lyrics uplift or set your mind adrift into questions of who we really are. When colors cascade and collide waters come together then divide. Do you watch from up above? Is there a kingdom of love in which you all do reside?

Wind Forever - It really was a meeting, a religious head beating from my friends. The words were so stinging / I tried my best at leaving, to no avail / The songs seemed uninspired / Something about heaven, something about hell. The answers never ended, and the packaging was splendid / But I don't buy... ...these words so clever. ...forever... ...but we'll never know. I tried to reason but they screamed treason and turned me in / We want believers, not you free thinkers, now fall back in. The march of theirs was madness / On the morning of the Sabbath / I felt so cold, as I watched my family... ...eat all the candy that the stranger fed. So hard to watch as they were led. Into words so clever - Words forever. When they put him under water / I watched with the preachers daughter as she held my hand / When the organ started playing, my eyes were still betraying all that I learned. While the hand of God was working, my thoughts were searching, in the dark. Her touch was so electric, to a soul that was neglected, but now soars free in the wind forever.

As You Were Leaving - If you're living in the past, you can move in with me, I've got nothing on this screen, except black and white TV. And I wont be changing it to anything past '70 / Don't you remember, movies together - Bogart and Karloff, and you'd always smart-off. I sorted through your things, though I swore I would forget / All the things we did together, that I knew I would regret... ...the pretty girls on TV make me glad you didn't stay, even though you liked those clothes, you'd never dress that way. Marilyn Monroe, Greta Garbo, Lauren Bacall, I love them all. The color of our years was painted in red my dear, the theme's repetitive I guess, but I still love you the best. The little toy nightlight still stays on for you at night, the thought of you leaving, keeps it awake every evening. Shallow waters, my shallow head, can't remember what I said / But I know I sounded smart, when you stood there and broke my heart. And I know I looked real slick, old clothes, hair black and thick... ...didn't you notice? My eyes looked gorgeous. Didn't you see them... ...as you were leaving
