Karp were born screaming out of a backwater town called Tumwater, WA. Consisting of Scottie Jernigan, Chris Smith and Jared Warren they released their first full length record in '94, Mustache Wild. Having been friends since childhood, it was no wonder that they played together as if through some sort of screaming deadly telepathy, but nothing could prepare you for their unadulterated rock assault, threatening at times to make your ears bleed or entice you to riot. The following year found them releasing Suplex, this time giving a little insight into their sarcastic sides, while mainting a take no prisoners approach to the music. The next full length, the self titled Karp album would unfortunately be their last full length... and by many counts, their best. They broke up shortly after releasing the Prisonshake 7" due to personal conflicts. Jared went on to The Tight Bros From Way Back When, and then more recently teamed back up with Scott and Joe Preston to form the mind-melting The Whip, who were obviously on the verge of world domination when Scott tragically died in a boat accident early summer of 2003.
