Jana started her musical career playing bass with the infamous queens of Seattle grunge, Dickless, although you would never guess that from listening to her solo albums. Many of the songs found on her first album date back to 1992, songs that she started working on shortly after moving to Ellensburg. Originally working with friend Mark Pickerel of Dark Fantastic and Screaming Trees fame, she would later hook up with a local band called the Cat Ion. You might have heard of them in their current incarnation known as The Ruby Doe, and if you haven't, you are missing out. Shortly after finishing work on her first record, Jana took some time off to give birth to her son, Weylon. She moved to Seattle again with Weylon in tow, where she started working on songs for the next album, Slumber. Again working with The Ruby Doe, together they would make a much lusher and at times, appropriately enough, sleepy record. Jana currently resides in Montana.
