 Bio
Duster were born out of the wreckage of legendary screamo band Mohinder. Duster originally consisted of Clay Parton and Dove Amber, both of whom can pretty much play any instrument that they pick up. The first release they put out was the Transmission, Flux 7" on which they both play the drums, organ, guitar, and sing. There had been one song, the short and sweet "East Reed" that was released before the 7" on the compilation "Patio Collection Vol. 2" on Smilex. They were soon joined by Jason Albertini (original member of Queens of the Stone Age) who came on board when Clay and Dove were nearing completion on Stratosphere. Although for the first full length Jason was only found playing drums on three tracks, for the next release, the "1975" e.p. Jason was also proving himself to be a multi-faceted musician in his own right (although he had already proven this, if truth be told, with other bands that he had been in) adding hammond, rhodes and piano to his drumming as well as sharing the recording/ producing credits with Clay and Dove. When Her Space Holiday purveyor, and friend, Marc Bianchi asked them to release something for his own record label, the three recorded an album under the name Valium Aggelein. With their second full length release as Duster, Contemporary Movement, all three were involved in all aspects of making the album. When not working on songs as a part of Duster, Clay keeps busy with his project Eiafuawn, and plays in a band named El Buzzard. Meanwhile, Jason plays keyboards as a part of Mike Johnson's band. But at this time, Duster are currently working together on new songs and planning to record soon, and their lineup has recently expanded to include friends Krag and Ross, who play guitar and bass.
