| Caustic Resin formed in 1988 in Boise, Idaho with the line up of Brett Netson on guitar and vocals (formerly of Boise's punk band the Pugs), Tom Romich on bass (and sometimes vocals) and Pat Perkins on drums. By the time that they recorded their first record for C/Z, entitled "Body Love/Body Hate", Pat had left to work more on his other band, Size of Alaska, and James Dillion joined, thus beginning the "classic" Caustic line up. Roughly around the same time, Brett started playing bass with Doug Martsch and Ralf Youtz (drums) in the first incarnation of Built to Spill on the album "Ultimate Alternative Wavers" which started a long standing collaboration with Doug. Caustic then went on to record their next record for Up, "Fly Me To The Moon" in 1994, which was followed closely by the "Built to Spill/ Caustic Resin" EP. Caustic then made a label switch to Alias where they recorded their next three records. In 1999 Caustic had a couple of line up additions, with Mike Johnson (bass) and Joe Plummer (drums) on the songs that James and Tom were not on. Joe Plummer left shortly after to work with The Black Heart Procession. After "The Afterbirth" Brett hooked back up with Pat Perkins, and together with Mike and Tom they have released their newest album entitled "Keep on Truckin'" which finds them back on Up once again. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
